Something horrible that can go wrong while moving is breaking an important item… specifically the television…. At A-1 Freeman Moving Group, we know it’s horrible to break your TV during the move. We want to make sure your move is as stress-free as we can here in Colorado Springs, whether your move is local or long distance. We know how hard it can be, so we get together a few tips and tricks to use when you are you need to pack up your TV.
In order to move your television, you’re going to
require a box that’s will work for moving your television. Using the box and packaging that it came in is a great idea – if you kept it. If you threw it out, you can find a box designed for moving televisions from either a hardware store or a moving supply store. You should find a box that is just a little bit bigger than the TV, but not by a lot; you don’t want the TV to bounce around when it’s inside. Moving fragile and large items requires packing and moving
experience, not just large trucks or specialized equipment. At A-1 Freeman Moving Group we have a team of experienced movers who can help you with your move, even getting your TV ready to load.
Before anything else, you should snap a few pictures behind your television with all of the cords still plugged in. This will make your life a lot easier when the time comes to reinstall everything. Then, get your TV ready to go. First disconnect the power cord, then all other connecting wire. Place everything into a bag together and keep it with the box. There might be a base you must separate from the television so you can pack it. If that’s the case, make sure to put all screws and other parts inside a reclosable bag and keep it with the base so everything stays together.
Once you’re finished, you can get the TV all packed up. It doesn’t matter whether you are going far from Colorado Springs
or you are only moving locally
, it’s necessary to know your television is properly covered. You should use foam pieces to protect the TV screen, you will find some in your kit if you got one, or in the box that your TV came in if you still have that. The foam doesn’t only keep the screen from being scratched, but it also will stop your television from shifting around in the box during your move. Steady the foam pieces using mover’s wrap or tape. Then use blankets or sheets to cover the TV and prevent it from being scratched.
When your TV is totally covered up it’s time to put it inside of the box! Keep it upright and get it secured by filling spaces with blankets or even clothes. This will help keep the TV from moving around in its box.
Lastly, get the box inside of the moving truck. Make sure you keep the box upright and try to put it next to other flat, solid objects, including your mattress, dresser, or a bookshelf. Remember to have the cables close to the TV, whether they’re in a bag taped to the side or in another box.
Then you’re ready! Hopefully you have a moving company
here in Colorado Springs to help you out, getting you across the country or your town quickly and safely, with all of your stuff intact. If not, A-1 Freeman Moving Group has got you covered! We can move you fast and efficiently, and we’ll make sure your TV is safe and sound so you have it all up and running when the big game comes around.
